Brittney Dent, Certified Trichologist

Brittney was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL. She graduated from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL. While in her early years of college, she obtained her Natural Hair Stylist license and began doing hair for a few people. Word quickly spread about her talents and her clientele grew drastically. Over the years, she has seen varying forms of hair loss, sparking her interest in healing the scalp. She learned how to hand sew wigs for clients and apply them on their heads. These clients wore these wigs for reasons from hair loss, hoping to improve the overall health of their hair, and just for convenience. By 2017, she had mastered constructing wigs on the sewing machine. 

Brittney has always expressed her desire to combine her passion for hair and healthcare to anyone that asked her where she saw herself in the future. Having almost six years of healthcare experience, she has seen the ins and outs of the health system as well as the side effects of pharmaceuticals. Her and her husband have always desired to utilize a holistic approach to their health. After doing research for some time, Brittney learned about Trichology and obtained her certification from P2P Institute and became a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and operates Healing Strands LLC. under this certification.

Brittney believes her medical knowledge gives her an advantage at tackling hair loss and understanding the many co-morbidities, symptoms, and diseases that clients present with. Brittney believes that the body is an extraordinary creation and can heal itself when the right factors (herbs, essential oils, detox, etc.) are introduced. It is her hope that with a proper analysis, evidence-based research, natural remedies, and non-invasive treatments that she can help improve re-growth in areas where hair loss has occurred and help you regain your confidence.
