Please reach out to us at info@healingstrandshair.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our treatment plans are not covered by insurance. However, we do offer Afterpay, in-house financing, and accept HSA/FSA payments. Will be adding Cherry Financing and Care Credit soon.
Treatment plans are individualized. So, you and the Trichologist would discuss a treatment plan/schedule that best suits your needs. Our main Hair Loss Protocol is a 12-week commitment and requires weekly treatments during that time. After the initial 12 weeks, the Trichologist will discuss the next steps for maintenance.
To best answer this question, clients need to book a scalp analysis appointment so that the provider can thoroughly examine the scalp. Hair regrowth isn’t always achievable due to things such as scarred tissue. Scarred tissue develops as a way of the scalp protecting the follicle from harsh/intense practices and trauma. This tissue is VERY hard to get through. Each client’s condition is unique and probability of regrowth is discussed at the beginning with the intent to not give false hope.
With the proper hair regimen and products, in some cases, clients can continue to see growth at home without visits. However, it is encouraged to continue to see your provider in increments that you both agree on so the integrity of the hair and scalp can be monitored. Be mindful, in some scalp conditions/disorders, the cycle of hair growth and shedding may be re-occurring for a number of reasons. Please consult with our Trichologist for more detailed information on this matter.
The Trichologist will consult with the client about their personal and medical history first. Depending on the situation, there will be some rare instances that another provider will need to be consulted for more information about a diagnosis, lab results, etc. In these instances, consent for medical release would be needed. Nothing would be done outside of the knowledge and consent of the client.
Your insurance could possibly cover your cranial prosthetic. Some insurance companies do cover them. They may cover a partial amount, the whole amount, or give you a limit on how much you can spend on a prosthetic. Then, it will be up to you to pay the remaining balance out of pocket.
No. It is the client’s responsibility to contact their insurance company to see if they qualify for a prosthetic. Look below for key questions you should ask. Also, be mindful of the terminology used.
-Does my policy cover a crania prosthesis/
-If yes, what type of cranial prosthesis is covered (i.e. synthetic, human hair, etc.)
-How much of the cost will they cover?
-What specific terminology they need to have on the prescription fora. “Medical Hairpiece“ or “cranial prosthesis”?
-Is a prescription medically necessary to process my claim and get approval?
-Is any additional information/documentation needed regarding my diagnosis?
Don’t worry, Healing Strands works with you to help come up with a solution and/or payment plan when possible. It is our goal to try and make everyone we service feel confident and happy with their decisions and make them feel better leaving than when they came.
For these request, we assess the situation first before making a promise that we can provide this service. The client would need to present their hair to the provider. Hair needs to be in rubberbands/bundled prior to being cut off. We would then need to assess how much hair the client has and how much needs to be added. We use medical grade wig/hair providers. So, we would try to match the client’s hair and the extensions as best as possible. Consult with our Trichologist for more information on this service.
